This old blog might be a bit dormant for a bit as I attempt to focus on producing enough work for my exhibition, but stay tuned for some stuff that you good people will hear here,that those people that go there, won't know about ~nudge nudge, wink wink~

Pop in Fringe

Yay its official, will be making an appearance in next years Fringe festival (well, my paintings will be anyway) and so I probably shouldn't go putting too much of my fringe stuff on here before the exhibition kicks off on the 1st of March... though I will, however, be shamelessly dropping some promo here revealing a bit more info about it shortly - so stay tuned...

...and I'll say this much for now- there will be sushi.

As I slowly finish off the works I started over there and get round to busting out a few more based on the ideas I've had over the past couple of years, you can expect a lot more Japanese-influenced stuff to be popping up here. Still missing that place.

Never really done a serious still life before so it was lots of fun, should've called it something like "Still Life with Tulips, Teacup and a Couple of Oranges" I suppose.

An etching I did a wee while ago at high school. Would love to do more but don't currently have the resources.

You don't have to be a genius to figure out some of the imagery with this one.

Had fun putting Accidental Ritual together and it's been quite sturdy since I went at it with the glue-gun.

This is a lumpy, texturey one was brought by my friend Shazza back in '01. She's in England now and she probably didn't take this with her. Hi Shazza.

This rainbow-haloed golden retiever family was the third commission for my first ever patron. (Thank you Ms Dewe!) Sorry bout the flash bouncing off this photo, mumsy took this pic.

I'm always keen to do more pet portraits; fauna painting is my forte... (da-dum chish).
This one is still kind of for sale actually cause the punk who initially "bought" it never came up with the money.

My then boyfriend helped me out by translating and writing a short story for me in Japanese. It tells the true story of how a boy and a girl climbed Mount Fuji without a single musasabi sighting, which wasn't that surprising... considering they don't live in Japan.

Some people may find it strange I should choose to portray my brother in a pimpesque style... but I find such people strange (and you haven't met my brother).

I love Magritte's work. He was a smartass and so am I. It's not often that I can be bothered using oils (because I'm not that patient and they're too stinky), so this technique of attempted classy realism is seldom seen in my work.
